In addition to drawing interest from the Phillies, reliever Eric Gagne also has workouts scheduled with the Rockies, Dodgers and Blue Jays, according to Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:After posting a 5.44 ERA in 46.1 innings for the Brewers in 2008, it's hard to believe anyone would have interest in the disgraced former closer, but expect someone to ink him to a minor-leauge deal. He is highly unlikely to appear in the major leagues in 2010.

Eric Gagne will work out in front of Phillies scouts this afternoon, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Our View:The former Cy Young winner was out of the majors last season and was pretty awful with the Brewers in 2008, blowing seven saves in just 17 opportunities. Even if the Phillies are impressed by the workout and end up signing him, it's unlikely he'd be given a chance to close.

According to the Boston Globe, former Cy Young winner Eric Gagne pitched poorly in his first start for the Quebec Capitales of the Independent Can-Am League.

Our View:Gagne allowed five runs on nine hits and four walks over just 4.2 innings and never got up to 90 mph on the gun. Still, Gagne says he's determined to return to the Major Leagues, whether as a starter or reliever. We won't hold our breath.

According to SLAM Sports, the Quebec Capitales of the Independent Can-Am League have signed former MLB reliever Eric Gagne.

Our View:Gagne is recovering from a tear in his rotator cuff and looks like he's working out the kinks in Canada. If he can prove he's healthy and effective once again, MLB scouts will undoubtedly come calling.
March 8, 2009
Eric Gagne has been released by the Brewers, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View:An MRI recently revealed that Gagne has labrum and rotator cuff damage in his pitching shoulder. He was unable to pitch to convince the Brewers that he belongs in their bullpen. The club could bring him back if he improves enough to pitch down the road.
