According to the Dallas News, Khalil Greene has passed his physical, verifying his one-year deal with the Rangers.

Our View:Greene will earn $750,000 next year and may have a chance to make an impact with the Rangers. He had a horrible season with the Cardinals last year battling physical ailments, mental issues and overall ineffectiveness, but will get a fresh start in Texas. He'll likely come off the bench as a backup infielder.

The Rangers have reportedly inked Khalil Greene to a one-year deal worth $750,000, according to the Hot Stove Blog on MLB.com. The deal is pending a physical, and he is expected to serve in a utility role.

Our View:Greene only batted .200 with six homers over 170 at-bats in a disappointing 2009 campaign with St. Louis, and will be looking to improve his stock with Texas in 2010. He could benefit from playing his home games at hitter-friendly Rangers Ballpark, assuming his personal issues are behind him.
October 5, 2009
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Khalil Greene will not be on the Cardinals postseason roster. He will be a free agent this winter.

Our View:Greene hit just .200 this season with 24 RBI in 170 at-bats. He also battled depression throughout the season. With the emergence of shortstop Brendan Ryan, the Cardinals will not be interested in bringing him back and he'll probably have a hard time getting anything more than a minor league deal.
August 1, 2009
As expected, Khalil Greene has been activated from the 15-day DL, according to the Associated Press. Mitchell Boggs was optioned to Triple-A to make room on the roster.

Our View:Greene has been suffering from social anxiety disorder which limited him to only 47 games this season. Skipper Tony LaRussa considered starting Greene today, and he could work his way back into the lineup if his illness is under control.
August 1, 2009
The Cardinals will activate infielder Khalil Greene (anxiety) from the 15-day DL on Saturday, MLB.com confirms.

Our View:Greene could see a decent amount of action over the next few days because Brendan Ryan (ankle) is out, but the former starting shortstop is expected to be only a bench player moving forward.
