Player Notes
October 2, 2009
Mitch Maier went 2-for-5 with two singles and three RBI in tonight's 10-7 loss at Minnesota.

Our View:Maier broke out of his slump after going 2-for-20 over his previous six games.
September 16, 2009
Mitch Maier went 3-for-4 with an RBI in tonight's 4-3 loss at Detroit. He hit a double and two singles.

Our View:Maier has multiple hits in three of his last six games, and his three knocks tonight tied a single-game high for 2009.

Mitch Maier has been recalled by the Royals from Triple-A Omaha, according to TSN. Jose Guillen was placed on the 15-day DL as the adjoining move.

Our View:Maier will see action while providing depth in the Royals' outfield with Guillen on the shelf, but is only an option for deeper fantasy leagues, as he holds a dismal .213 average with no homers over 136 at-bats this season.

Mitch Maier has been optioned to Triple-A Omaha.

Our View:Maier was part of a major Royals roster shake up on Thursday. In 136 at-bats in 2009, he is batting just .213 with zero home runs. He isn't worth owning in any format, including keeper leagues.

The Royals recalled Mitch Maier from Triple-A Omaha on Thursday, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Our View:Maier replaces Alex Gordon on Kansas City's roster after Gordon landed on the DL with a right hip labral cartilage tear. Maier has hit .370 through six games in the minors thus far and could see a bit of time in right field, where Willie Bloomquist currently resides, until Jose Guillen returns from the DL. Still, Maier is not worth any sort of attention in fantasy leagues.
